News, views and a look at the lighter side, our new show paper covers both the show and the industry in general.
6156 attendees break attendance record at UKCS2014!
The move to Hall 5 and running the show on Thursday and Friday was pronounced an outstanding success by Show Director, Steven Callaghan after the best ever attendance at a UK CONCRETE Show since the shows launch in 2011.
"Walking through the entrance boulevard flanked by a display of plant and equipment from big industry names starts to create a real sense of anticipation of what to expect when you reach the show area and you are not disappointed!"
Some 206 exhibitors occupied an area of just under 20,000m2, almost 100 of whom are first timers are putting on a terrific show, supported by 6 live demo bays and 30 specialist seminar sessions.
"Considering that the first show in 2011 occupied just 4,000m2, the show has grown by almost a factor of 5 in 4 years, the bulk of this in recession, which says a great deal about the strength and resilience of the concrete industry' added Callaghan.
Business is being done at the show
The value of orders placed during the show plus invitations to tender suggest that proof that the economy really is starting to move, according to Sales Director, Paul Shelley.
"More than £500,000 of firm orders were place on day 1 of the show and from conversations with exhibitors, we estimate that once the firm enquiries received by exhibitors are developed over the coming months, the value of business generated at the show will approach £50 Million."
